need a kick start in the New Year to help you get a focused career direction?
Stanford alumni are invited to a career development workshop on Wednesday, Jan
10, 2007 at 6:30pm. Latham & Watkins has kindly offered conference room
1000 for our hands-on session.

A panel of successful alumni and moderated by Career Coach, Dr Margaret New,
will answer your questions and with your permission, give you advice. Bring
your questions, your resume, and your friends. This is an open opportunity to
get some free advice or at least less expensive advice as we have to charge
a small fee of $10 to cover a light supper.

Financial Aid

Join fellow DC-area alumni in welcoming Stanford’s new Dean of Undergraduate
Admissions and Financial Aid, Richard Shaw. Following an hors d’oeuvres reception,
Dean Shaw will discuss trends in undergraduate admissions and his vision for
the future of the admissions process at Stanford.

Shaw is a nationally recognized leader in undergraduate admission. He previously
served as the director of admissions at Yale and the University of Michigan,
in addition to serving in admissions offices at Cal and at the University of
Colorado Boulder.

Event price includes tasty Italian appetizers and pasta. Cash bar. Attendance

Young Alumni: Capitals Hockey Game and a Night Out in
Chinatown

Bring your young alums friends for a night out starting with the Washington Capitals
vs. the New York Rangers, followed by a good time and luscious libations, beginning
at Fado’s. If you cannot make the hockey game, join us after the game, starting
at Fado’s.

Stanford at the Opera – Spring 2007

Continuing the Washington National Opera’s commitment to a full “Ring”
cycle, a brand new production (not the DAR one revised) and starring Placido
Domingo and Anja Kampe with Heinz Fricke conducting. A Die Walküre Special
Events calendar will be sent to all ticket holders. Deadline for ordering is
March 21st. Tickets will be mailed week of March 26th.

Macbeth – Verdi

A Verdi masterpiece presented in conjunction with the Washington, D.C. Shakespeare

Spring is on it’s way…and with it comes Stanford softball in the 60-team Capital
Alumni Network league. Our co-ed team will play 14 weeknight games on the Ellipse
in this slow-pitch league starting in April and continuing until August. If you’d
