Stanford Lecture Series – Satellites & Sushi: The Plight of Blue-Fin Tuna

Join us for a reception and a wonderful lecture at Stanford’s newly expanded home in Washington, DC. The Washington, DC Stanford Association invites you to a special evening featuring Stanford Professor Barbara Block, the Charles and Elizabeth Prothro Professor in Marine Sciences in the Department of Biological Sciences. Professor Block will address the plight of the bluefin tuna and how cutting-edge science can ensure the future of this majestic fish. As an added bonus, this engaging evening features Stanford in Washington’s new Sant Building and renovated Bass Center.

The Harvard Club of Washington and the Washington Wellesley Club will host a buffet and cash bar in a nightclub. We’ll have a delicious Moroccan buffet from the Marrakesh Palace Restaurant. Afterwards you’re welcome to stay for dancing to international music. Or you can walk out into the Dupont Circle neighborhood.
Price: $25 in advance and $30 at the door. To receive the advance admission price, please send a check for $25 payable to the “Harvard Club of Washington” by November 10th. The Washington DC Stanford Club invites you to an Ivy Singles Social Club holiday party. The venue is the elegant, historic DACOR- Bacon House, which will be decorated for the holiday season and a fir tree will await our collective, talented ‘bobble and bow adding skills’. PLEASE BRING an ornament to put on the tree or an inexpensive item to put under the tree for our toy drive. Wrapped gifts should note suggested age of child for the gift.
We will feast on scrumptious hors d’ oeuvres and enjoy live music. Libations will be available from a cash bar. Wear your festive party apparel!
