Udvar-Hazy Center Tour

Location: 14390 Air and Space Museum Parkway, Chantilly, Virginia
Cost: Free Tour, $12 per vehicle
Please join Mike Nelson ’59 for a tour of the highlights of this new addition
to the National Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport. Mike, a docent at
the Center, gave three tours to our Stanford alums last year and due to their
popularity has generously offered more!
To Meet: Please meet promptly at 10:30 AM, 30 minutes after the museum opens.
Enter the museum and pass through the security checkpoint. Look for the red
and white aircraft hanging upside down above the floor and Mike, standing
below it, wearing a blue blazer and his docent’s nametag.

of Law at Stanford Law School, will speak at 7:30PM on "Law and Neuroscience:
Preventive Detention, Lie Detection, Mental Steroids, and More” –
i.e. the implications that future advancements in neuroscience may have in

Hands on DC work-a-thon

Come join a team of Stanford volunteers on Saturday, April 29th for the annual
Hands on DC work-a-thon. Hands on DC (www.handsondc.org) is an all-volunteer
organization that sponsors an annual one-day volunteer event to create "better
schools, brighter futures" for DC public school students by refurbishing
DC public schools and raising money for college scholarships for DC public
school students. On April 29th, about 2,500 volunteers, including the WDCSA
team, will be completing projects like landscaping and painting at 30+ public
schools throughout DC. All materials and supplies will be provided. The day
will run from approximately 9 am until 2 pm — exact time and location will
be announced closer to the event. If you’d like to participate on the WDCSA

Ivy Singles Plus! Event
Sunday, April 30 3:00-?pm
Hike and picnic in Rock Creek Park. We’ll start at a member’s house adjacent
to the Park in NW Washington, hike through the Park for an hour or so, and
return to cook and enjoy a potluck picnic and conversation on the lawn.
We’ll supply the meat and wine, and you bring a salad or dessert.

WDCSA Softball Season
Stanford will again field a team again for the April-July 2006 CAN softball
league. Games in this slow-pitch, co-ed league of Washington area alumni clubs
are played in the early evening on the Mall, and the season ends with an all-teams
