If you park in the grass lot for $50, you will enter the tournament on the north side. Because parking in this lot is first come, first served, expect to pay by credit card. If you have a parking pass from WDCSA, you will park in Lot A. The entrance to lot A is on Colorado Avenue, just west of 16th Street. You will then enter the tournament on the south side. Expect to show your parking pass on your phone when you enter lot A. Ride Share services (Uber, etc. will drop off on the Carter Barron Amphitheater Box Office Access Road (entrance is at 4850 Colorado Avenue NW) and you will then walk north to Lot A and the south entrance to the tournament. https://www.mubadalacitidcopen.com/en/event-info/parking-and-directions provides more information
https://www.mubadalacitidcopen.com/en/event-info/faq provides information about what you can bring in. If you don't have a clear bag or a folding umbrella, you can buy one on Amazon. So plan ahead. You can bring in a 32 ounce water bottle.
Court layout
All of the courts face north/south. North of the stadium is the John Harris court which is the largest seating of the outside courts and thus will generally have the matches of most interest other than the stadium court. South of the stadium are 3 courts - I think labelled 1, 2, and 3. All 4 of the outside courts have seating on both sides of the court which can be useful if you are seeking shade
Food
Market Square on the east side of the stadium has numerous food vendors, air conditioning (but not toor cold), tv's, places to sit, and occasional interviews with tennis players. It is unquestionably the the biggest improvement by far the tournament has made in the past few years.
On the west side of the tournament is a restaurant which I think is only open to box holders. It also has a couple bathrooms apart from the bathrooms on the east and west side of the stadium.
Schedule and Location of Matches
Each tournament day in the morning the tournament will put out an order of play showing which players will be playing on each court. This schedule will probably be available on the tournament website and paper copies of this will be available at the tournament. I will email this to our purchasers for that day when I get it in the morning.
In addition to the these matches, the tournament in the past 2-3 years has posted near court 1 a schedule of who is practicing on which court, generally in 30 minute segments. This provides an opportunity to see some well known players who won't be playing that day.

Although it is too late to volunteer this year, while you are at the tournament, you might have a chance to talk to a volunteer to learn more about it.
Airport Greeters and Drivers have contact with players, coaches, family members, etc. There's lot of variety but you don't see any tennis. I was a driver for 3 years right before Covid hit.
Each court will have volunteers that let people in only when players change sides. My interest in volunteering began when I asked one of these people about this. He had just recently retired.
There are also volunteers who work in the tournament office and those in the player lounges.
Becoming a ball kid is supposed to be very competitive. It can also involve some late night driving by the parents or older siblings.
People who direct parking in the lots are presumably paid because no one would volunteer for that.
